Principal Avionics Systems and Flight Test Engineer

About the role

Moog Avionics is seeking a Principal Avionics Systems and Flight Test Engineer to lead the design, development, and flight testing of complete cockpit solutions for military and special‑mission aircraft. This senior position will drive technical innovation across avionics, radios, and flight control systems while working onsite at the Mineral Wells, TX facility.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and flight‑test full‑vehicle avionics systems, including radios and autopilot controls.
• Lead informal project teams and manage multiple concurrent customer projects.
• Define system architecture and evaluate customer requirements to create certified solutions.
• Analyze feasibility, manufacturability, cost, and schedule for project proposals.
• Develop and modify testing applications and tools to support system integration and formal flight tests.
• Support software development for new and legacy product lines and ensure compliance with FAA and human‑factor standards.
