Preventative Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift (Palestine, TX)

About the role

Join Walmart’s Service Shop team as a Preventative Maintenance Technician on the 2nd shift in Palestine, TX. You will keep a wide range of equipment—from trailers and tractors to shop tools—running safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic to intermediate inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs and replacements on Walmart equipment such as trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment and service vehicles.
• Create and process work orders, assess maintenance needs, identify required parts and select optimal solutions.
• Repair and replace brake system components (air, anti‑skid, ABS, disc brakes), address leaky wheel seals, and dismount/install tractor‑trailer tires following DOT guidelines.
• Receive fuel drops, conduct fuel sampling, monitor tank levels, prepare samples for analysis and complete related paperwork.
• Communicate verbally and in writing with customers, suppliers and internal associates; maintain accurate records, logs and computer‑based documentation.

• Ability to work the 2nd shift and collaborate with managers, co‑workers and external partners.
