Pressure Test Technician

About the role

The Pressure Test Technician supports the Fabrication Planning & Production Control department by preparing and executing pressure tests on gas‑process skids and units. The role requires strict adherence to safety procedures and a focus on delivering reliable test results for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Set up pallets of testing equipment and install blinds, gaskets, studs, and NPT fittings on designated connections.
• Conduct pressure tests at specified pressures using the appropriate medium and monitor gauges for pressure drop.
• Report any leaks or defects, perform repairs within scope, and record test data including leaks, pressures, and flush/vacuum results.
• Operate oil‑flush and vacuum equipment to clean and purge units to specification.
• Maintain a clean work area and complete daily 5S housekeeping tasks.
• Assist in leading a small crew of 1‑2 technicians as needed.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED (preferred) and fluent English communication skills.
• 1‑5 years of industrial experience in pressure testing, oil flushing, or vacuuming of process equipment.
• Ability to make quick decisions, act in emergencies, and work effectively under pressure.
• Experience reading and interpreting P&ID drawings and using basic hand and pneumatic tools.
• Capability to lead a small team and follow strict health, safety, and environmental procedures.

Required skills

• Pressure testing of gas‑process units.

• Use of hand tools, pipe wrenches, impact tools, and pneumatic equipment.
• Reading and understanding P&ID diagrams.
• Threaded piping installation and operation of threading machines.
