Prep Operator – Manufacturing (Springville, UT)

About the role

Join Nestlé’s Springville, UT facility that produces Stouffer's Frozen Meals as a Prep Operator. You will work 10‑hour rotating shifts on either the 1st or 2nd shift, operating the Extructor machine to ensure high‑quality product output.

Key responsibilities

• Gather all equipment and recipes needed to run the Extructor for the scheduled product before each shift.
• Complete and verify all required paperwork.
• Minimize cheese waste, fill out scrap and WIP tickets at shift end.
• Obtain and calibrate scales when required.
• Check cheese or commodity appearance for consistency with recipe standards and ensure proper labeling.
• Remove condensation from walls, equipment, and ceilings before start‑up and monitor throughout the shift.
• Model the Springville Compass in all work‑related activities.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Team Leader.

Required profile

• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings to avoid collisions with forklifts and other equipment.
• Follow safety rules, wear required protective gear, and adhere to GMP, USDA, and food‑safety policies.
• Identify sub‑standard ingredients or procedures and take corrective action.
• Physical ability to stand for 9‑10 hours, lift and move heavy items, and work in temperatures from 35 °F to 100 °F.

Required skills

• Operation of the Extructor machine.
• Scale calibration and commodity weighing.
• Basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication).
• Legible handwriting for documentation.
