Preconstruction Specialist – Mechanical Construction

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Specialist to lead the planning and development of commercial mechanical construction projects. You will work closely with owners, architects, engineers, estimators, and operations teams to create winning strategies and ensure successful project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all preconstruction activities for commercial mechanical construction projects.
• Develop conceptual and detailed project budgets and cost estimates.
• Prepare value‑engineering recommendations to maximize project value and efficiency.
• Perform constructability reviews to identify risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, project managers, and design teams throughout the preconstruction process.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Participate in design development meetings and provide technical guidance.
• Assist in developing project schedules, procurement strategies, and execution plans.
• Support business development by building client relationships and contributing to proposal presentations.
• Coordinate the transition from preconstruction to operations upon project award.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial mechanical construction.
• Experience in preconstruction, estimating, project management, engineering, or related mechanical construction roles.
• Strong estimating experience on commercial mechanical construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, owners, and contractors.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
