Preconstruction Manager - Multi-family Construction

About the role

The company seeks a strategic Preconstruction Manager to lead multi‑family housing projects from early planning through handoff to field operations. This position coordinates design, budgeting, and regulatory processes to ensure projects are constructible, cost‑effective, and ready for successful construction.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between internal development teams and external design consultants, including architects and engineers.
• Manage design development to keep documents constructible, aligned with schedules, and within budget.
• Coordinate with estimating teams through schematic design, design development, and construction documents phases.
• Lead value‑engineering initiatives to identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Conduct constructability reviews to flag design conflicts, site logistics challenges, procurement risks, and scheduling concerns.
• Work with municipal agencies to support approvals and entitlement processes.
• Ensure compliance with affordable‑housing programs, LIHTC, HUD, California Title 24, GreenPoint Rated, and other sustainability standards.
• Develop and track comprehensive preconstruction schedules and milestones.
• Facilitate a seamless transition of projects from preconstruction to field operations.

Required profile
