Pre & Post Trade Operations – Agency Desk Associate

About the role

The Agency Desk Associate supports the middle‑office management of syndicated and bilateral loan facilities where Santander acts as Administrative or Collateral Agent. You will coordinate, monitor and control agency responsibilities throughout the loan lifecycle, ensuring accurate interpretation and communication of deal terms to internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor Santander’s agency duties across new deals, amendments, waivers, extensions, refinancings, repayments and maturities.
• Review credit agreements, fee letters, collateral and guarantee documents to extract agency obligations, economics, deadlines and operational requirements.
• Work closely with Front Office, Legal, Credit Risk, Loan Operations, Treasury, borrowers, lenders and external counsel to ensure timely execution.
• Track key deal events such as funding dates, interest periods, rate resets, fee dates, reporting and consent deadlines.
• Prepare, review and validate agency deliverables including notices, funding requirements, fee calculations, lender allocations and transaction checklists.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to cash, positions, fees, allocations or collateral.
• Validate loan data in LoanIQ or other servicing systems and maintain documentation for audit and control purposes.
• Escalate risks, documentation gaps and control exceptions to appropriate stakeholders.
• Contribute to process improvements, control enhancements and standardisation of Agency Desk practices.

Required profile

• Ability to review and interpret credit agreements, amendments, fee letters and collateral documentation.
• Capability to monitor key deal events and deadlines across the loan lifecycle.
• Experience preparing and validating agency deliverables such as notices, fee calculations and lender allocations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain audit‑ready documentation.

Required skills

• LoanIQ or comparable loan‑servicing system.
