Powertrain Controls Software Engineering Internship (6 months)

About the role

As a Powertrain Controls Software Engineering Intern you will join Bosch’s global Powertrain Solutions team to develop embedded software for automotive control units such as VCU, ECU and TCU. You will work with the latest micro‑controllers, microprocessors and AUTOSAR standards in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform rapid‑prototyping to support functional requirement development.
• Develop manual and model‑based code according to specifications.
• Analyse and improve hardware‑software interfaces and create automated test software.
• Test and validate new software features on vehicles, engine dynamometers, HiL, SiL and MiL platforms.
• Debug and troubleshoot software issues.
• Participate in program review, interface studies and design reviews.
• Support customer test trips in diverse environmental conditions and provide local software expertise.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Controls focus), Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics.
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and at least one semester completed.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Senior or Master‑level students preferred.
• At least one year of academic or industry experience with software languages and real‑time operating systems.
