Powerline Construction Helicopter Pilot

About the role

Wilson Construction Company is seeking an experienced helicopter pilot to support powerline construction projects across the United States. The pilot will operate company‑owned MD500E and MD530F helicopters, transporting crews, equipment, and performing specialized lift operations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute Class A skid/platform and Class B cargo lifts for construction crews.
• Perform Class B Human External Cargo (HEC) and Class C side‑pull operations as required.
• Maintain strict safety and regulatory compliance during all flight operations.
• Coordinate with ground teams to ensure timely delivery of personnel and materials.
• Adhere to a two‑weeks on / two‑weeks off schedule, rotating among project sites.

Required profile

• Valid FAA Commercial Rotorcraft Certificate.
• Current 2nd Class Medical Certificate.
• Minimum 2,500 hours pilot‑in‑command in helicopters.
• At least 200 hours of vertical reference experience.
• Minimum 50 hours of flight time in MD500 or MD530 aircraft.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MD500E and MD530F helicopter operations.
• Expertise in aerial lift techniques for powerline construction.
• Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to operate in varied weather and terrain conditions.
