Postdoctoral Scholar – Dual Ion Battery Research

About the role

The Engler research group at LSU is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to lead investigations on dual‑ion batteries funded by Planck Power LLC. The role involves designing, fabricating, and characterizing novel battery chemistries using ion‑selective polymer electrolytes for commercial applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and prototype dual‑ion batteries with polymer electrolyte systems.
• Fabricate and perform electrochemical characterization of battery cells.
• Collaborate with experts in polymer electrolyte design, battery manufacturing, and simulation.
• Prepare technical reports, manuscripts, and present findings at conferences.
• Mentor and supervise graduate and undergraduate students in the laboratory.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.

Required profile

• PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience with electrochemical energy‑device testing, especially batteries.
• Strong initiative, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
