About the role
Texas A&M AgriLife Research’s Darwish Research Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to lead cutting‑edge projects in transcriptomics and metabolomics. The role involves designing experiments, analyzing complex data, and contributing to the laboratory’s extramural funding portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Identify funding opportunities and develop research initiatives aligned with sponsor priorities.
- Lead preparation and submission of competitive grant proposals to agencies such as USDA, NIH, NSF, and DOE.
- Design and execute independent and collaborative genomics and metabolomics studies using advanced analytical platforms.
- Perform targeted and untargeted metabolite profiling, characterize bioactive compounds, and optimize analytical methods.
- Analyze large datasets with metabolomics and statistical software and disseminate findings through peer‑reviewed publications and conference presentations.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in Plant Science, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- Strong track record of scientific publishing and experience writing successful grant proposals.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Required skills
- LC‑MS/MS, GC‑MS, UHPLC‑MS, HRMS, HS‑SPME‑GC‑MS analytical platforms.
- Expertise in transcriptomics and metabolomics data acquisition and interpretation.
- Proficiency with metabolomics and statistical software tools for complex data analysis.
