Postdoctoral Research Associate

About the role

The Singh laboratory at Texas A&M University Health Science Center seeks a motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to investigate gene‑expression regulation in normal and disease contexts. The role combines computational and molecular biology techniques to explore intronic polyadenylation isoforms across multiple cancer types.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute hypothesis‑driven experiments using molecular biology assays.
• Perform bench‑level techniques such as DNA sequencing, PCR, RT‑PCR, cell culture, and CRISPR/Cas9 editing.
• Collect, verify, and analyze experimental data, ensuring accuracy and reproducibility.
• Maintain detailed laboratory records and manage analytical instrument workflows.
• Prepare and present findings through manuscripts, grant proposals, figures, and oral presentations.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of gene‑expression mechanisms and experience with cancer‑related research.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced academic environment.
