Porter - The Pavilion at Star Lake

About the role

The Porter position at The Pavilion at Star Lake is responsible for keeping the venue supplied and clean: delivering, maintaining, stocking and cleaning, and making sure there is always enough product available. The role also includes helping set up and break down functions periodically or as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Wash all china, glass and silverware, and clean equipment, pots and pans before, during and after events
• Store equipment in its proper place and sweep and mop kitchen and office floors
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations
• Transport food and equipment around the venue and monitor cleaning supplies
• Keep assigned areas clean and orderly, and perform daily inventory of required stock
• Ensure requisitions are delivered on time and help with deliveries and stocking storerooms and side stations
• Assist members promptly and professionally, and carry out opening and closing duties as assigned by the Chef
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Required profile

• At least 18 years old, high school diploma or equivalent
• Able to read, speak and write English
• Flexible schedule covering extended hours, days, nights, weekends and holidays, and able to work in an open-air environment in all weather
• Punctual, dependable, and able to lift and move items of 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds
• Good personal hygiene and grooming, and sufficient mobility for standing, reaching, bending and lifting
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette preferred
