Port Operator / Senior Port Operator

About the role

Odfjell Tankers is seeking a motivated Port Operator (or Senior Port Operator) to manage vessel movements across a portfolio of Gulf Coast ports. The role ensures safe, efficient, and cost‑effective port calls while supporting commercial and operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and manage port operations for vessels in Lake Charles, Port Arthur, Port Neches, Beaumont, Galveston, Texas City, Houston, Freeport, Point Comfort, Corpus Christi and Brownsville.
• Coordinate vessel movements, provide timely notifications to Ship Operators and relevant parties, and oversee transhipment/barging arrangements.
• Maintain strong relationships with port authorities, terminals, surveyors, third‑party agents and barge owners.
• Prepare and distribute port rotation plans, advise on port times, and keep ship files and cargo statistics up to date.
• Appoint transhipment vessels and surveyors, issue required documentation, and ensure compliance with QHSE and company quality standards.
• Act as deputy to the Operations Manager in their absence and represent OUSA internally and externally when required.
