Pooled Fund Management Internship

About the role
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is seeking a motivated intern to join its Pooled Fund Management Branch in New York. The role supports the management of OCHA‑managed pooled funds such as the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) and Country and Regional Humanitarian Funds, contributing to analysis, reporting and stakeholder outreach.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and contribute to written reports, background papers, policy guidelines, briefings, case studies and presentations.
- Develop background information, talking points and key messages for senior‑management briefings on pooled funds.
- Support outreach and dialogue with UN agencies, NGOs and other partners, providing relevant background material.
- Assist in reviewing policy issues related to pooled funds and participate in work groups, meetings and conferences on oversight and compliance.
- Maintain internal databases and update contact lists.
- Undertake any other duties as required by the supervisor.
Required profile
- Enrolled in or have completed a graduate programme, or be in the final academic year of a bachelor’s degree.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of French is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and writing abilities, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under supervision in a multicultural, fast‑paced environment.
