PolyPath Market Risk Technology Specialist (Java/Python)

About the role

Santander’s Corporate & Investment Banking division is seeking an experienced PolyPath Market Risk Technology Specialist. You will bridge the gap between market‑risk business needs and large‑scale technology solutions, focusing on pricing, valuation and risk analytics for structured fixed‑income products.

Key responsibilities

• Support and enhance the PolyPath platform for pricing, valuation, trading and market‑risk workflows.
• Partner with risk, model, front‑office and technology teams to translate complex market‑risk requirements into scalable solutions.
• Develop, maintain and troubleshoot Python and Java applications, scripts and integration components within the PolyPath ecosystem.
• Implement and support market‑risk processes such as sensitivities, stress testing, scenario analysis and VaR.
• Work with structured fixed‑income products including Mortgage‑Backed Securities, Collateralized Mortgage Obligations and other asset‑backed securities.
• Analyze system performance, resolve data discrepancies and manage production incidents.
• Collaborate on migration, modernization and integration initiatives for legacy trading and risk systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience with PolyPath in a large banking or capital‑markets environment.
• Strong hands‑on programming skills in Python and Java.
• Deep knowledge of fixed‑income structured products (MBS, CMOs, ABS).
• Ability to work closely with traders, risk managers, quants, modelers and infrastructure teams.
• Solid understanding of both business and technical aspects of market risk.
