Policy Analyst – Defense & Intelligence

About the role

Redhorse Corporation is seeking a Policy Analyst to support the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (OUSD(I&S)) Policy Office at the Pentagon. This position plays a critical part in shaping, coordinating, and prioritizing policy across the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Intelligence Community (IC).

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate policy staff actions across DoD and the IC, ensuring alignment with the shared responsibility model.
• Manage Secretary of Defense and Under Secretary of Defense (Intelligence and Security) issuances in line with DoDI 5025.01 and standard operating procedures.
• Evaluate USD(I&S) policy documents for compliance with defense intelligence, counter‑intelligence, security, and law‑enforcement requirements.
• Review and validate policy documents from other DoD components to ensure they reflect appropriate equities.
• Identify and resolve issues during the issuance development process, providing recommendations and briefings to senior policy focal points.
• Participate in inter‑agency meetings and working groups to address coordination challenges.

Required profile

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Minimum five years of experience working within the DoD, including coordination of DoD issuances.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Required skills

• Experience with the DoD Issuance Portal System.
• Familiarity with the USD(I&S) Policy Portal.
