About the role

The University Police Department at East Texas A&M University seeks a dedicated Police Officer to provide professional law‑enforcement services to the campus community. Working under general supervision, you will help maintain a safe environment, deter crime, and support university operations.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol designated campus areas by vehicle, foot, or bicycle to prevent and deter criminal activity.
• Enforce criminal law, traffic regulations, and parking rules on university property.
• Respond promptly to calls and complaints involving violations of law.
• Investigate criminal offenses, gather evidence, and prepare detailed incident reports.
• Arrest offenders when necessary and coordinate with local law‑enforcement agencies.
• Provide information, assistance, and service to students, staff, and visitors.
