Police Officer I–IV (University Campus)

About the role

The University Police Department at Texas A&M University‑San Antonio is seeking qualified individuals to serve as Police Officer I, II, III or IV. Officers will protect students, staff, visitors and university property across the campus and affiliated sites, ensuring a safe environment for the university community.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular vehicle, bicycle and foot patrols to maintain a visible police presence and enforce Texas Motor Vehicle and Penal Code laws.
• Respond to all calls for service, including emergencies, crimes, traffic incidents and safety concerns.
• Investigate complaints, interview witnesses, secure crime scenes, collect and preserve evidence for court proceedings.
• Prepare detailed written reports documenting law‑enforcement activities and investigative findings.
• Serve as a Campus Security Authority under the Federal Clery Act, providing safety education and compliance.
• Testify in criminal courts, collaborate with prosecuting attorneys and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
