About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a dedicated Police Officer for its 4th Shift to support campus safety and law‑enforcement functions. This professional staff position is part of the UAMS Police Department and reports directly to the Public Safety leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide law‑enforcement services on the UAMS campus, including responding to emergencies and incidents.
• Enforce university policies, state laws, and regulations to maintain a safe environment for students, staff, patients, and visitors.
• Conduct investigations, prepare reports, and testify in court when required.
• Collaborate with other campus departments and local agencies to coordinate safety initiatives.

Required profile

• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Eligibility to be hired as a professional staff member within the University of Arkansas System.
• Commitment to the mission of a teaching, research, and clinical institution.
