PLM Technical Project Manager

About the role

Applied Materials seeks a seasoned Technical Project Manager to lead complex enterprise technology programs focused on Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and digital transformation. The role is based in Santa Clara, CA and requires 15+ years of experience managing global, cross‑functional projects in a technology‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with engineering, product development, IT and business leaders to identify automation and system modernization opportunities that improve engineering productivity and design quality.
• Develop end‑to‑end project plans, including scope, milestones, resources, financials, risk controls and stakeholder engagement models.
• Lead multifunctional teams through design, architecture, development, integration, testing, deployment and change management.
• Manage project financials, budget tracking, vendor spend and capital allocation requests.
• Conduct steering committee updates, executive readouts and post‑implementation reviews to ensure transparency and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field (advanced degree preferred).
• 15+ years of program/project management experience in technology, engineering, manufacturing or semiconductor environments.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects across global, matrixed teams and time zones.
• Strong communication, leadership and analytical skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for senior stakeholders.

• MCAD/ECAD applications: NX, Creo, E3.series, OrCAD
• Project management tools: Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams
• Certifications (preferred): PMP, PMI‑ACP, Scrum, SAFe, Prosci, ITIL, Six Sigma
