Plant Utility Operator Trainee

About the role
JST Global, LLC is seeking a motivated Plant Utility Operator Trainee to join its Houston bulk‑liquid storage facility. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in the production and refining of tallow, supporting both traditional fats and oils markets and emerging renewable fuels.
Key responsibilities
- Load and unload bulk liquid from tank trucks, rail cars, and ships.
- Assist in product transfer, steam heating, manual chemical blending, filtering, and filter cleaning.
- Perform storage‑related tasks such as valve alignment, equipment inspections, gauging, sampling, and confined‑space tank entry/cleaning.
- Maintain safety standards by wearing required PPE and following OSHA regulations.
- Care for assigned tools and keep work areas orderly.
- Read and follow production work orders in English.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Self‑starting attitude with the ability to work independently as experience grows.
- Ability to respond quickly under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- Valid photo ID and Social Security Card.
- Obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within 30 days of hire.
- Successful completion of a drug screening.
Required skills
- Forklift operation (preferred).
- Portable crane operation (preferred).
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations (preferred).
