Plant Operator – Night Shift

About the role

WIN Waste Innovations seeks a dedicated Plant Operator to run the Hydrogen Sulfide Treatment Plant, Gas Collection and Control System (GCCS), and Leachate Collection System (LCS) during night shifts. The role ensures safe, compliant operation of critical waste‑treatment equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect samples, record and evaluate data from control systems.
• Make operational decisions based on data analysis.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on flare, treatment plant, compressors, blowers, pumps and associated controls per manufacturer specifications.
• Respond to system malfunctions and participate in a rotating on‑call schedule.
• Operate industrial equipment such as forklifts, manlifts, and skid‑steer loaders.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years landfill or related technical experience, or a technical‑skills certificate.
• Proven mechanical and electrical diagnostic abilities.
• Strong analytical problem‑solving aptitude.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays and night shifts.
• Positive attitude toward teamwork and customer interaction.

Required skills

• PLC and SCADA control system experience.
• Low‑voltage electrical troubleshooting.
• Air compressor maintenance and refrigerated dryer knowledge.
• Emissions‑control analyzer operation.
• Maintenance of blowers, electric motors, pneumatic and electric pumps.
• Use of hand, power and pneumatic tools.
• Field testing equipment, meters and sampling devices.
• Reading and interpreting operating manuals, schematics and drawings.
• Operation of industrial forklifts, manlifts and skid‑steer loaders.
