Plant Controller

About the role

Standard Bots is seeking a Plant Controller to serve as the senior finance partner embedded at its Glen Cove, NY manufacturing facility. The role will own financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting while working closely with Operations leadership to embed financial discipline in every decision.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the plant’s monthly close, variance analysis, and management reporting.
• Act as the primary finance contact during external audits and maintain internal controls.
• Drive budgeting and forecasting for labor, materials, overhead, and capital projects.
• Evaluate capital expenditure requests with detailed financial analysis.
• Oversee cost accounting, standard costs, BOM accuracy, landed cost methodology, and labor allocation.
• Analyze manufacturing cost variances and partner with Operations to implement corrective actions.
• Manage inventory valuation, cycle counts, and obsolescence reserves in compliance with GAAP.
• Collaborate with Procurement on vendor cost analysis and supply‑chain cost trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including at least 2 years in a manufacturing or plant finance role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory valuation.
