About the role
The National Center for Smart Growth at the University of Maryland seeks a Planning Associate to support the Purple Line Corridor Coalition (PLCC). The role focuses on community engagement, outreach, and applied planning to promote equitable growth along Maryland’s largest transit investment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist PLCC in designing and implementing community engagement and outreach strategies.
- Facilitate coalition building among public, private, and community stakeholders.
- Conduct applied planning work related to housing, land use, transportation, economic development, and sustainability.
- Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for planning initiatives.
- Collaborate with faculty, research centers, and external partners to advance project goals.
Required profile
- Experience in housing, community development, land use, transportation, economic development, or sustainability.
- Demonstrated passion for community engagement and collaborative work.
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary academic environment.
