Planner IV

About the role

HNTB is seeking a Planner IV to apply planning strategies across urban and transportation projects. The role involves gathering and analyzing data, creating visual reports, and supporting project delivery from concept through completion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead internal and external coordination with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Conduct research on policies, issues, and concepts and formulate recommendations.
• Develop conceptual planning alternatives for urban and transportation projects.
• Prepare technical plans, studies, reports, and environmental documents.
• Produce presentations and facilitate public meetings.
• Mentor less‑experienced staff and direct small‑to‑medium sized tasks.
• Assist in preparing scopes of work, fee proposals, and RFP responses.
• Research data sources, gather and analyze data, and develop planning strategies using GIS, traffic, or safety software.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, or a related field with at least 6 years of relevant experience, OR a Master’s degree with at least 5 years of experience.
