Physician (Regular Full-Time)

About the role

This full-time physician position with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs offers eligibility for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), which can reimburse up to $200,000 of student loan debt for a period of one to five years.

Key responsibilities

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship (or non‑citizen appointment only when qualified citizens cannot be recruited).
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from a VA‑approved school.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth or the District of Columbia.
• Completion of an accredited residency program approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs (ACGME or AOA) leading to eligibility for board certification, or alternative pathways as described.
• Compliance with VHA policy and submission of the EDRP application within four months of appointment.
