Physician – Primary Care

About the role

Rockbridge Area Health Center (RAHC) is seeking a compassionate Primary Care Physician to join its multidisciplinary team in Lexington, Virginia. You will provide comprehensive outpatient care to a diverse patient population while enjoying a schedule that supports work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality primary care services to patients of all ages and backgrounds.
• Collaborate daily with physicians, advanced practice providers, dentists, social workers, behavioral health specialists, dietitians, and care managers.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and FQHC regulations.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and community outreach programs.
• Provide patient education and preventive health counseling.

Required profile

• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Virginia or eligibility to obtain one.
• Board certified or board eligible in the relevant specialty.
• Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain it.
• Eligibility to participate in Medicare and Medicaid programs.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with hands‑on practicum.
