Physician (MD or DO) – Full‑Time Primary Care

About the role

Join Seldovia Village Tribe (SVT) as a full‑time physician providing primary, preventive, and chronic‑care services to Native beneficiaries and community residents in an ambulatory clinic setting.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive acute and chronic primary care to patients and families within scope of licensure.
• Counsel patients with chronic and infectious diseases and coordinate care with regional providers.
• Conduct health‑education activities and promote physical and emotional wellbeing.
• Act as patient advocate, ensuring follow‑up care and appropriate referrals.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and care coordinators to oversee patient care.
• Maintain professional relationships with local health agencies and community groups.
• Travel to nearby communities (e.g., Anchor Point, Seldovia) by plane or boat as needed.

Required profile

• Graduated from an accredited MD or DO program.
• Active Alaska physician license and DEA registration.
• Board certification in chosen specialty or ability to obtain certification within three months.
• ACLS certification and ability to pass pre‑employment drug screen, background check, and TB test.
• Preferred: 3+ years clinic experience and familiarity with tribal or community health centers.
