Physician – Hematology/Oncology (Board Certified/Eligible)

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Hematology/Oncology physician to join its inpatient and outpatient cancer program in Slidell, Louisiana. The position provides comprehensive cancer care within a multidisciplinary, research‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver inpatient and outpatient hematology/oncology patient care, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow‑up.
• Participate in weekend on‑call coverage (Friday‑Sunday) and evening phone coverage during weekdays.
• Collaborate with a dedicated support team, APPs, and multidisciplinary specialists to ensure coordinated patient and family support.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology.
• Ability to commit to 36 hours of direct patient contact plus additional indirect care duties.
• Willingness to work the specified weekend call schedule and provide care for adult patients only (no pediatrics).

Required skills

• Proficiency with the EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Clinical oncology expertise for managing complex cancer cases.
