Physician Assistant/Extender

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Physician Assistant/Extender to deliver essential healthcare services under physician supervision. In this position you will conduct comprehensive physical examinations, provide treatment, counsel patients, and, when authorized, prescribe medication.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complete physicals and clinical assessments for patients.
• Diagnose and treat medical conditions under the guidance of a licensed physician.
• Provide patient education and counseling on health management.
• Document patient encounters accurately in the health record system.
• Prescribe medication in accordance with state regulations and physician oversight.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care.

Required profile

• Master's degree in nursing with a current Georgia APRN license, OR a Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant studies with at least two years of general medicine experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus completion of a 24‑month ARC‑PA‑certified PA program and certification by the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners (or eligibility within one year).
• Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant or APRN in Georgia.
• Ability to work under physician supervision and follow clinical protocols.
