Physical Therapy Assistant - PRN

About the role

We are seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PRN) to provide routine treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist at Ochsner Health in New Orleans. The role involves delivering prescribed therapy, documenting patient progress, and ensuring high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform physical therapy treatments as prescribed by the physician and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Document patient status changes, progress notes, and communicate updates to the supervising therapist.
• Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with documentation standards and policies.
• Participate in staff and committee projects and achieve productivity targets set by administration.
• Educate and train others within the discipline and adapt communication to respect patient privacy and needs.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current Physical Therapy Assistant license in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
