About the role
The Washington Elementary School District is seeking a dedicated Physical Education teacher for grades 5‑6. The incumbent will deliver quality instruction, foster a safe and engaging learning environment, and support students’ physical and social development.
Key responsibilities
- Teach the district‑approved PE curriculum aligned with Arizona State standards.
- Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and adapt activities for individual and small‑group instruction.
- Assess student progress, maintain records, and prepare progress reports.
- Communicate regularly with parents through newsletters, notes, phone calls, and conferences.
- Establish and enforce classroom management structures to ensure safety and academic engagement.
- Coordinate the work of teacher aides, volunteers, and manage field‑trip logistics.
- Incorporate technology into lessons and create attractive learning displays.
Required profile
- Valid Arizona Department of Education teaching certification for the position.
- Arizona Department of Public Safety Identified Verified Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Commitment to maintaining certification and adhering to ethical and confidentiality standards.
