Pharmacy Technician – Lead Role

About the role

Vail Health Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support daily pharmacy operations in its Edwards retail pharmacy. The role includes leading other technicians, handling prescription processing, and ensuring excellent patient service.

Key responsibilities

• Act as lead technician, modeling best practices and training staff.
• Enter patient and prescription data accurately into the computer system.
• Resolve adjudication issues with third‑party prescription plans.
• Assist in dispensing prescriptions and, when needed, compound specialty medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Manage cash register transactions, daily cash reconciliation, and sales reporting.
• Order and manage OTC and Rx inventory to meet budget goals.
• Provide relationship‑based customer care and uphold a Just Culture.

Required profile

• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Ability to type quickly and use various computer applications.
• Strong English reading, writing, and speaking skills.

Required skills

• State of Colorado Pharmacy Technician Provisional Certification (PHATP) – required.
