About the role
The Pharmacy Technician IV – Specialty Infusion provides critical support to the infusion pharmacy at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Working on the day shift, the technician prepares sterile specialty medications, ensures compliance with safety standards, and contributes to high‑quality patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, compound, and dispense specialty infusion medications in accordance with USP <797> standards.
- Verify medication orders, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure proper labeling.
- Manage inventory of infusion supplies and controlled substances.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and pharmacists to coordinate therapy delivery.
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy staff and student employees.
- Monitor and enforce safety and infection‑control protocols.
Required profile
- Certified Pharmacy Technician with a valid state license.
- Minimum two years experience in sterile compounding or infusion pharmacy.
- Knowledge of specialty infusion therapies and USP <797> regulations.
- Ability to work day shift and maintain legal work authorization in the United States.
