Pharmacy Support Analyst (Spanish Bilingual)

About the role

The Pharmacy Support Analyst will manage medication assistance applications for indigent patients, leveraging eRecovery software to secure free drugs from pharmaceutical manufacturers. This onsite position supports Cardinal Health Clinical Operations at a Metropolitan hospital within NYC Health + Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Recover and process drugs administered to patients without third‑party coverage.
• Act as liaison between physicians, patients, and pharmaceutical companies regarding program processes.
• Answer queries on Cardinal Health reimbursement policies and day‑to‑day pharmacy operations.
• Visit key health‑system contacts regularly to ensure high service levels and program participation.
• Maintain daily communication with patients, nurses, physicians, social services, pharmacy staff, and drug sales representatives.
• Discuss medication options based on availability and guide physicians and patients through eligibility.
• Educate stakeholders on program guidelines, mission, and referral procedures.
• Identify and resolve rejected applications, including finding comparable drug regimens.
• Refer non‑eligible patients to external charities or assistance programs.
• Track and report the monetary value of recovered drugs for billing purposes.
• Ensure confidentiality and security of all patient information.

Required profile

• Fluent in Spanish and English (bilingual).
• New York Pharmacy Technician license (preferred).
• 2–4 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and telephone etiquette skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent follow‑up capabilities.
• Basic knowledge of medication classes, medical ailments, and standard treatments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using eRecovery software for medication assistance applications.
