Pharmacist – Specialty Pharmacy (Full‑Time, On‑Site)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Pharmacist to join our CareMed Specialty pharmacy in New Hyde Park, NY. This full‑time, on‑site position supports patients by ensuring safe and effective access to specialty medications.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate physician medication orders for appropriateness, dosage, interactions, and route of administration.
• Maintain a comprehensive patient database with medical history, lab data, and concurrent medications.
• Order, evaluate, and discuss necessary laboratory tests for high‑risk conditions with the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other team members to provide clinical and technical support.
• Document all communications with healthcare professionals and patients.
• Implement policies for safe procurement, storage, distribution, use, and disposal of drugs and biologics.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory documentation requirements.
• Report medication‑related errors to the Pharmacy Manager.
• Assist staff with safe handling, administration, and disposal procedures.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (Pharm D preferred).
• Current pharmacy license in the state of practice; multi‑state licenses are a plus.
• At least one year of experience in a specialty pharmacy is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws and federal/state regulations.
