Pharmacist – Prior Authorization (Remote, CST)

About the role

We are seeking a licensed Clinical Pharmacist to join a Prior Authorization unit for a Fortune 100 healthcare organization. The position is fully remote, requires residence in the Central Time Zone, and operates on a 6‑month contract with potential extension or conversion.

Key responsibilities

• Review and decision‑make on prior‑authorization cases using clinical criteria and plan design.
• Process member prescriptions and prior authorizations through multiple computer systems, ensuring data accuracy.
• Communicate with pharmacy technicians, providers, and physicians via phone to gather clinical information.
• Interpret clinical guidelines, provide formulary alternatives, and render coverage determinations.
• Organize workload, prioritize tasks, and comply with state and federal pharmacy regulations.
• Support quality‑assurance initiatives and maintain a safe, collaborative work environment.

Required profile

• Active pharmacist license in the state of residence within the CST time zone.
• Experience as a Clinical Pharmacist, preferably with prior‑authorization or call‑center exposure.
• Ability to work flexible shifts ranging from 5 am to midnight after a 4‑week training period.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to build rapport with internal teams.
