Pharmacist – Pediatric Hospital Pharmacy

About the role

The Pharmacist will join the pediatric pharmacy team at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, providing safe, effective, and cost‑efficient medication therapy for children of all ages. This role combines clinical expertise with distributive services to support physicians, patients, and families in a hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review, process, and dispense physician medication and IV solution orders, ensuring appropriate dosage based on age, weight, and diagnosis.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize drug therapy and promote rational medication use.
• Provide drug information and education to healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers.
• Supervise pharmacy areas when in charge and serve as a preceptor for new staff and pharmacy residents.
• Maintain individual competence, pursue continuous performance improvement, and adhere to state and federal regulations.

Required profile

• PharmD or equivalent degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
• Georgia pharmacist license or eligibility.
• At least 1 year of experience in a hospital pharmacy, preferably pediatric.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (to be obtained within 30 days of hire).
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and effective communication with clinicians, patients, and families.
