About the role
The Inpatient Pharmacy at UAMS is seeking a Pharmacist I to join the mid‑shift team. This entry‑level position supports the delivery of safe, effective medication therapy to hospitalized patients and works closely with clinicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff.
Key responsibilities
- Dispense and verify inpatient medication orders accurately and promptly.
- Prepare sterile and non‑sterile compounded medications.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize medication therapy and provide drug information.
- Maintain inventory control, ensure proper storage, and manage medication shortages.
- Participate in medication safety initiatives and adverse drug event reporting.
- Provide patient counseling and education as needed.
Required profile
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree and active Arkansas pharmacist license.
- Ability to work a mid‑shift schedule in a fast‑paced inpatient environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
- Effective communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
