Pharmacist – GI Oncology Clinical Operations

About the role
The Pharmacist will provide and compound prescribed medications, IV mixtures, and other pharmaceutical products in accordance with professional standards. The role includes educating patients, families, and clinical staff to ensure safe and optimal drug use.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accurate dispensing records for all medications, including controlled substances and investigational drugs.
- Consult with patients and families on medication usage, side effects, and composition.
- Develop and implement policies or protocols for drug handling and specialty pharmacy practice.
- Resolve medication dispensing system issues for assigned patient care areas.
- Provide in‑service education and orientation on drug use to health professionals.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, ensure proper storage, rotate stock, and obtain out‑of‑stock items.
- Participate in annual competency evaluations of chemotherapy‑mixing RNs.
- Prepare and supervise preparation of outpatient medications, including unit‑dose dispensing, IV admixture, chemotherapy, TPN, investigational drugs, and sterile products.
- Review patient profiles, adverse drug reactions, and verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Up to one year of post‑degree coursework or internship and less than one year of experience, plus a minimum of two years in general pharmacy practice.
- Prior pharmaceutical experience and ability to work independently.

What we offer
- Salary range: $157,400 – $167,300 per year
- Exempt status
- 35‑hour work week, Monday‑Friday
