Petroleum Inspector – Field Inspection (Pasadena, TX)

About the role

Petroleum Inspectors conduct on‑site quantity surveys and sample collection for petroleum and petrochemical commodities at client facilities such as barges, ships, shore tanks, railcars and tank trucks. The role requires precise measurement, documentation and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Visit client facilities including barges, vessels, shore tanks, railcars and tank trucks to perform quantity surveys and collect samples.
• Maintain and verify calibration of measurement and safety equipment, ensuring all tools are clean and operational.
• Accurately calculate quantities, complete required paperwork, label samples and deliver them to the laboratory or client facilities.
• Communicate any discrepancies or incidents promptly to the Operations Supervisor and maintain a 24‑hour on‑call status.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a working vehicle (car or truck).
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb regularly and up to 100 lb occasionally, and to climb ladders and stairs.
