Permitting Manager

About the role

Radiant, a startup developing portable nuclear microreactors, is looking for a Permitting Manager to lead the final, on‑the‑ground step of deploying its Kaleidos reactor. The role focuses on securing state and local permits required for transportation and site installation, working closely with internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end state and local permitting process for reactor transportation and deployment, from application through approval.
• Manage relationships with contractors, consultants, and inspection teams supporting permit applications.
• Coordinate with regulatory affairs, engineering, legal, operations, and community‑engagement teams to ensure accurate, site‑specific permit submissions.
• Work directly with customers’ permitting teams and provide on‑the‑ground information to policy and advocacy groups.
• Track permit status across active and prospective sites, flagging risks or delays to leadership.
• Develop repeatable permitting playbooks to reduce time‑to‑permit as the company scales.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of local and state permitting requirements (transportation, siting, zoning, environmental, construction).
• Support site‑selection efforts with permitting feasibility analysis.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience managing permitting processes for industrial, energy, infrastructure, or similarly regulated projects.
• Proven ability to manage contractors or consultants through entitlement or permitting processes.
• Strong understanding of local and state permitting environments.
