Per Diem Emergency Veterinarian – Woodbury, MN

About the role

VEG is seeking a per‑diem Emergency Veterinarian to join its 24/7 emergency hospital in Woodbury, MN. You will provide immediate, high‑quality care to a wide variety of pets, including exotics, while working in a supportive, mentorship‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Answer medical questions over the phone and triage calls.
• See patients promptly through VEG Triage and VEG Spikes processes.
• Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and perform comprehensive physical exams.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures such as ultrasounds, X‑rays, bloodwork, and biopsies.
• Develop diagnostic and therapeutic plans and communicate them clearly to owners.
• Prepare and present cost estimates.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Perform minor and major emergency surgeries and endoscopic procedures.
• Educate owners on after‑care and preventive measures.

Required profile
