Peer Recovery Coach

About the role

The Peer Recovery Coach provides culturally responsive, peer‑based support to individuals affected by substance use disorders. You will work with people at various stages of recovery, including those re‑entering the community after treatment and those considering treatment, using evidence‑based practices.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individualized, strengths‑based peer support and develop personalized recovery plans.
• Conduct outreach to engage individuals not currently in treatment.
• Connect clients to treatment, housing, employment, and community resources.
• Facilitate recovery groups, classes, and culturally relevant programming.
• Collaborate with internal staff, external providers, and community stakeholders to ensure coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation and report service delivery metrics.
• Promote recovery awareness and assist with community education events.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
• Demonstrated commitment to recovery and a healthy lifestyle.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and maintain strict confidentiality.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Pass drug screen and federal background check as required.
