Payroll Tax Analyst

About the role

This temporary-to-hire position supports payroll tax operations for a fast‑growing HCM organization in The Woodlands, TX. The role is ideal for professionals with hands‑on experience processing payroll tax in multi‑state environments and who enjoy working in a client‑focused, high‑tempo setting.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll tax deposits, filings, and payments across multiple jurisdictions.
• Research and resolve payroll tax discrepancies by collaborating with clients and tax agencies.
• Prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax filings, both electronic and paper.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
• Respond to internal and client payroll tax inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Maintain accurate payroll tax records and documentation across systems.
• Assist with tax account setup, updates, and reconciliation activities.
• Partner with internal teams to improve payroll tax processing and workflow efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of payroll tax processing or analyst experience.
• Experience supporting multi‑state payroll tax operations.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Background in payroll, HCM, or payroll service provider environments is preferred.
