Payroll Coordinator

About the role

The Payroll Coordinator will manage end‑to‑end payroll processing for our construction projects in the U.S. Virgin Islands. You will ensure timely, accurate payments, maintain employee records, and support compliance with payroll regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and process weekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
• Verify timesheets for completeness and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate weekly check distribution, including sorting and mailing.
• Maintain and update personnel files in line with company policies.
• Enter new hires into the payroll system and prepare certified payroll reports.
• Record and remit payroll taxes, garnishments, and other liabilities.
• Reconcile benefit deductions with provider invoices.
• Process adjustment and layoff checks as needed.
• Provide employment verifications and respond to employee payroll inquiries.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of payroll or related finance experience.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
• Effective communication and collaborative teamwork.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Timberline payroll software.
• Experience with CMiC (a plus).
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Knowledge of certified payroll and Davis‑Bacon Act requirements.
• Understanding of cost accounting principles.
