Payments Forum Internship – Spring/Summer 2027

About the role

The Payments Forum Internship supports the Federal Reserve Payments Study (FRPS), the most comprehensive analysis of non‑cash payments in the United States. Interns work directly with the Atlanta Fed’s Payments Forum team to recruit and assist financial institutions, card networks, and payment processors in submitting and validating data.

Key responsibilities

• Contact depository institutions, card issuers, and payment processors to encourage participation in the FRPS.
• Assist respondents with data submission, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate records of outreach activities and data received.
• Collaborate with research staff to ensure data quality for economic analysis.
• Participate in the Atlanta Fed’s broader internship program events during the summer semester.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student, preferably studying economics.
• Willingness to commit to both the Spring (15 hours/week) and Summer (30 hours/week) semesters of 2027.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Creative thinking, problem‑solving ability, and strong organizational skills.
