Patient Transporter – Vascular Lab (Full-Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital is seeking a full‑time Patient Transporter to support the Vascular Lab. You will ensure safe, timely transport of patients, specimens, and equipment while maintaining accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Retrieve medical records, lab results, supplies, and medications for patient transport.
• Notify nursing staff when patients leave and return to the unit.
• Maintain patient charts alongside the patient during transport.
• Complete all transports within assigned time parameters.
• Collect and safely deliver specimens and blood products to the appropriate department.
• Check oxygen cylinders for full tanks and safe condition before transport.
• Accurately check patients in and out of the transport system.
• Restock supplies in assigned areas.
• Gather, clean, and disinfect patient‑care equipment and reusable items.
• Follow university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent (or relevant experience, certification, or license).
• No prior experience required.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.
