Patient Transporter – Nuclear Medicine (Full-Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital is seeking a full‑time Patient Transporter to support the Nuclear Medicine department. You will ensure safe and timely movement of patients, specimens, and equipment while maintaining accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Retrieve medical records, laboratory results, supplies and medications for patient transports.
• Notify nursing staff when patients leave and return to the unit and keep patient charts with the patient.
• Complete transports within assigned time parameters and deliver specimens and blood products to the appropriate departments.
• Inspect oxygen cylinders before transport to confirm they are full and safe.
• Check patients in and out of the transport system and restock supplies in assigned areas.
• Gather, clean and disinfect patient‑care equipment and other reusable items.
• Adhere to university and unit policies and safeguard assets.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent (or relevant experience, certification or license).
• No prior experience required; on‑call rotational coverage may be needed.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies and adapt to changing priorities.
• Team‑oriented attitude and ability to work collaboratively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.
